ProHealth Medical Group Welcomes Nurse Practitioner

ProHealth Medical Group is pleased to announce that April Powell, FNP-C, has joined ProHealth Pediatrics in Pekin, Illinois, as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Powell has more than nine years of nursing experience throughout Central Illinois, including more than a year of Nurse Practitioner experience. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Francis College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
“We are very excited to add April to the ProHealth team,” said Dawn Moushon, Vice President of Practice Management for ProHealth Medical Group. “As a life-long Central Illinois resident, she is committed to providing superior care to the communities we serve. Her experience and enthusiasm make her a great asset to ProHealth Pediatrics and the community.”

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
