Dr. Charles VanDyke Joins ProHealth Pediatrics

ProHealth Medical Group, Pekin Hospital, and Progressive Health Systems are pleased to announce that Dr. Charles VanDyke is now seeing patients at ProHealth Pediatrics at 3212 Court Street in Pekin, Illinois. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. VanDyke will lead an initiative to improve access to the pediatric acute care needs of the community.
“Now more than ever, busy parents are looking for safe, timely, efficient, and cost-effective care for their children,” he said. “That is ProHealth’s promise to the community we serve. It is a privilege for us to provide an acute care setting that covers a wide range of needs, including allergic reactions, illnesses, lacerations, fractures, sprains, immunizations, and sports physicals.”
Dr. VanDyke received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, and he completed the Pediatrics Residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) in Peoria, Illinois. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UICOMP. He held the position of Chairman for Pekin Hospital’s Department of Pediatrics for 16 years.

ProHealth Pediatrics offers locations at 3212 Court Street and 3223 Griffin Avenue in Pekin. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are available at the Court Street location.

Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters.
