Beyond Jobs: Connecting qualified women and respected employers

Beyond Jobs is a free program that helps Central Illinois women improve their job skills and find employment (or better-paying jobs). Funded by a grant from the Walmart Foundation and administered by Goodwill of Central Illinois, it connects qualified women and respected employers—building brighter futures for both.

How does Beyond Jobs work?
The program starts with a thorough assessment of each participant that includes work history, job skills, computer aptitude, personality profile and more. Then, women in the program work with Goodwill’s employment experts to identify the tools and training they need to achieve their educational, career and financial goals. Each participant receives a complete career assessment, including:

: Job skills & computer training
: Resume preparation
: Individualized career planning
: Financial education
: Access to clothing from Dress for Success (on a need basis)
: Job connection & retention services

Plus, our assistance doesn’t end when women find employment. We provide ongoing support—to both participants and employers—to help women retain their jobs, further their educations and advance their careers.

Why should local women participate? We all need help reaching our goals. Beyond Jobs can put you on the right path to a good-paying job by helping you:

: Define your educational & career goals
: Access the training programs & resources you need
: Improve your computer & job skills
: Make connections with respected local employers
: Stand out in the competitive job market

Why should local employers participate?
It’s a simple way for your business to connect with qualified job candidates—at no cost or obligation. We only accept women into Beyond Jobs who are dedicated to finding and keeping a job. We conduct full background checks on all participants and continue to offer support even after they’re employed.

How do I get started? It’s easy. Simply contact Brenda or Jamie, and they’ll be happy to provide more information or answer any questions.
