Subway Miss Marigold Pageant

Congratulations to Maddi Carr, the 2011 Miss Marigold Queen. She was selected from 9 contestants on Saturday at the Subway Miss Marigold Pageant. Maddi is the 36th Miss Marigold Queen. Also, congratulations to 1st Runner-Up Falynn Lannert, 2nd Runner-up Tori Hunt and to all of the Marigold Court members: Brooke Agunod, Katelyn Neel, Sydney Nelson, Lindzey Wheeler, Brittany Bozarth, and Sara Bergstrand. Everyone did an amazing job at Saturday Night's pageant and our community is very proud of all of you! All of the contestants received scholarships, including a $2,000 scholarship for Miss Marigold. Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
