We have had an eventful summer and we are so excited to announce that we are relocating The Pekin Academy of Fine Arts to 420 Walnut St in Pekin, The Mansion on Walnut. The Mansion on Walnut is transitioning to an arts, culture and events center to serve Pekin and its surrounding communities. We have created a new bright art space/classroom at the back entrance for the kids to have their classes and can't wait to show it to you! It's going to be fun,creative and full of messy
 possibility. The parking is great and the facility is in a more accessible area for kids & families who live close to ride their bikes or walk to. It's an exciting move! Our classes and workshops will be held at the new location after October 16, 2016. Adult classes and workshops will be held in the dining room of the house surrounded by beautiful art from some of the best Central Illinois Artists! Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
