Laborer's Local 231 Annual John M. Evans Golf Tournament

The 14th Annual John M. Evans Scholarship Golf Tournament has been scheduled at Lick Creek Golf Course in Pekin , IL.  This tournament is specifically designed to raise money to perpetuate this scholarship fund so Laborer's Local 231 can continue to give financial assistance to qualified recipients.
The Local Union would greatly appreciate it if you would sponsor a golf team and/or a tee sign or both, if you choose.  If you cannot sponsor a team or a tee sign, please feel free to donate a gift certificate or prize.  Gift certificates and prizes will be raffled off at the Golf Tournament. The cut off date for tee signs and team sponosrs will be May 25th, 2010.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
