Paul Hahn 5K Memorial 'Ohana Run
Mackinaw
Valley Vineyard
September
30, 2017
8am
to Noon
The first annual Paul Hahn 5K Memorial 'Ohana Run is
being held to honor and continue the mission Paul took to heart to
reach out to others and warn them of the need for colorectal cancer
screening at age 50 or earlier for those with a family history. The
race will be held at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard and Winery which Paul
founded. There will be both a 5K race and a 1 mile fun run/walk. We
thank our generous sponsors; Central Illinois Endoscopy Center,
Midwest Orthopaedic Center and The Catering Company. The race
proceeds will be used to benefit the mission of CRC Life, the Colon
Rectal Cancer Life Charity is a local charity founded with the
mission of improving and assisting in the lives of local colorectal
cancer patients, their caregivers, colorectal cancer survivors and
those treating colorectal cancer in Central Illinois.

The name 'Ohana was chosen for the race because Hawaii
held a special place in Paul's heart. 'Ohana means "family"
in the broadest sense, not just those you are related to by ancestry
but those you choose to love as your own. Paul achieved many things
in his life, but family and friends were at the core of what he
loved. When it was clear his time was short, Paul asked
his 'Ohana to continue the mission to encourage others to get
screened early and be spared the loss and heartache that cancer
inflicts on its victims and their 'Ohana. Join us with your 'Ohana to
celebrate life and family as we stand up together to strengthen one
another in our fight against cancer.
