ProHealth Medical Group Welcomes New OB/GYN Physician

ProHealth Medical Group, Pekin Hospital and Progressive Health Systems are pleased to announce Dr. Arie Shaw as the first physician for the newly formed ProHealth OB/GYN practice at 600 South 13th Street, Suite D, in Pekin, Illinois.
Dr. Shaw received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Dr. Shaw to Central Illinois,” said Dawn Moushon, Vice President of Practice Management for ProHealth Medical Group. “The addition of Dr. Shaw is the first step in our ongoing commitment to a long-term OB/GYN presence in Pekin. Dr. Shaw will be an outstanding addition to ProHealth Medical Group and our community.”

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
