This year's festival features over 55 wines and 55 beers for tasting and purchase from around the world.   Many exciting American craft beers will be featured for tasting and also some new fine wines at the two ticket table. Artisan cheese sampling and sales by Ropp Jersey Cheese in the pavilion and the Lions Club will be hosting the concessions with the proceeds going to their charity. Morton Community Bank is again the corporate glassware sponsor.   Saturday and Sunday there will be music performed throughout the day. featuring two of our favorites and three bands that are performing here for the first time for this event. 

$10pp admission includes a souvenir tasting glass and 5 tasting tickets for ages 21 and over, $5pp admission ages 13-20, ages 12 and under free

Local High School to Win a SMART Board in 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
