Pekin Hospital Unveils New and Improved Website

Pekin Hospital is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved website at PekinHospital.org.  The site is aimed at providing the most up-to-date information to patients, their families, and members of the general public.

The site not only has a new look, but also includes drop-down and sliding menus that allow users to quickly select what kind of information they’re seeking.

Other features include:
• Find a provider
• Pay my bill
• Share a comment
• Apply for employment
• Learn of current news and events
• Become a volunteer

The site also integrates with ProHealth Medical Group’s newly-created website, PekinProHealth.com. ProHealth operates primary and specialty practices in Pekin, Illinois and is part of Progressive Health Systems, which includes Pekin Hospital.
Pekin Hospital, which is celebrating its 100th year of service to the community, is accredited by The Joint Commission and is a past recipient of the Lincoln Foundation for Excellence Silver Award.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
