New Physician Joins Pekin Hospital’s Medical Staff

Pekin Hospital is pleased to announce that Tracey A. DeLucia, M.D., Ph.D., recently joined its medical staff and is now accepting new patients.

Orthopedic Surgeon Tracey DeLucia, M.D., Ph.D., joined Pekin Orthopedic Center at 2351 Broadway in Pekin on August 31.

Dr. DeLucia began her medical career when she obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. She then began her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She then completed a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, the top orthopedic hospital in the country.

Her areas of interest include treating children under 18 years of age. Her expertise is in the care of limb deformity and limb lengthening, club foot, infant hip dislocation, and cerebral palsy.

Dr. DeLucia says, "My philosophy is that the whole family's orthopedic needs should be cared for from birth to adulthood by the same physician for continuity and completeness. My mission is to restore ability to those with disability. It is important for me to know my patients' families when trying to understand their orthopedic condition. Whether a person is born with special needs, lives alone, or has small children needing care will determine how their orthopedic condition causes challenges in their life."

Originally from the greater Chicago area, Dr. DeLucia enjoys traveling, reading, and fitness activities in her spare time. She is an avid runner. She and her husband, Joe, have two sons.

She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
