The free, one-hour training events  will cover the following topics:

  • Benefits of Energy Management Systems
  • Reduction of energy consumption through equipment efficiency improvements
  • Reduction of maintenance costs
  • Balancing of hot spots and cold spots in the building
  • Systems to control heating, lighting, and air conditioning

The free, one-hour training events  will cover the following topics:

  • No TLC is bad for energy savings! Aging equipment that hasn’t been maintained is the worst combination for energy savings
  • Tune-up vs. replacement of heating or air conditioning equipment
  • Rooftop, heat pump, geo-thermal, and split system, boilers (gas or electric): Learn the language of the system you have and the benefits of the one you want
  • What qualifies for an incentive and what will save me energy
  • New to the HVAC line up of incentives to help: the programs and more to give!

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
