Leman Property Management to manage additional complex in Pekin

Leman Property Management Co. has added Meadow Lane Apartments to its residential portfolio, leading a local group of investors in the purchase and assuming operations of the property effective today. Located at 1101 El Camino Drive in Pekin, the apartment community consists of 56 residential units and was constructed in 1994.

Leman Property Management Co. currently manages over 1,500 apartment units in the central Illinois area, including 736 units in Pekin, as well as various commercial and office buildings and single family residential subdivisions. Other apartment communities under management in Pekin include Williamsburg Townhouses, Willow Oaks Apartments, Sunset Hills Apartments, North Haven Apartments, Lakeside Apartments, Vista Villa, and South 4th St. Villas.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
