Pekin Hospital Circle Drive to be Closed for Renovations

The circle drive located outside Pekin Hospital’s Main Lobby will be closed to all vehicle traffic for exterior renovations beginning on September 9. The project will take approximately four weeks to complete.

To accommodate our patients, staff, and visitors:
· The Front Lobby Entrance will remain open via a construction tunnel that will be adjusted as the project progresses. Patients and visitors may also use the ER Entrance as an alternative. Maps and signage will be available to assist the public.

· For patient drop-off, please use the circle drive located outside of the ER.

· Transportation vehicles that normally use the front lobby circle drive to drop-off or pick-up patients should instead use the Hospital’s Park Avenue Entrance or the Women’s Diagnostic Center Entrance on 14th Street.

· The parking lot located on 14th Street outside of the Women’s Diagnostic Center will re-open on Tuesday, September 8.

· Patients will be discharged through the Women’s Diagnostic Center Entrance on 14th Street.

The circle drive will reopen, weather permitting, on October 9.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
