Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Announces 25th Annual R. David Tebben Community Leadership Academy 

 

 

Pekin, IL- The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce will open applications December 1, 2022 for the 25th Annual R. David Tebben Community Leadership Academy.  


The Community Leadership Academy was created to identify, inform, and educate existing or emerging leaders of the local community. Through thought-provoking classroom sessions and on-site informative tours, participants are motivated into leadership responsibilities by exposing them to the realities, opportunities, and challenges of the Pekin area.  The 2023 program will run January 10th through March 16th on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Enrollment is limited with a $600 registration fee for non-members or $500 for members of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce.  


The 2023 Community Leadership Academy is sponsored in part by the Dirksen Congressional Center, with grants provided toward registration fees.  


The application deadline is December 31, 2022. Applicants will be required to fulfill a participation requirement to graduate from the academy. To apply, visit: https://pekinchamber.com/leadership-academy/.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
