February Puttin on Pekin Breakfast
Over 80 chamber members and their guests braved a cold, blustery morning to attend the February Puttin' on Pekin breakfast held at the Avanti's Dome. David Nutter won the early prize and Annette Davis won the late prize. Rose Marie Hasler presented the Blue Ribbon Award to Buster Hanley for the recent remodeling work done at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes and Crematory. Judy Duwaldt, manager of Big R of Pekin, accepted the Spotlight on Business Award from Debbie Fornoff. Amy Wilson from the Farnsworth Group presented the Sunshine Award to Crystal Dagit from the Tazewell County Museum for there work on the Illinois Bicentennial.
The audience heard a two-minute introduction from candidates for the Pekin City Council and the two candidates for Mayor. The council candidates included David Nutter, John Abel, Karen Hohimer, and Matthew (Tyler) Tucker. John McCabe and Mark Luft introduced themselves as mayoral candidates.
