The Digital Store Opens in Pekin

The Digital Store recently opened a Pekin location at 425 Ann Eliza, 885-4600.  Representatives from the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Pekin were on hand to welcome them to Pekin with a ribbon cutting.  President Scott Sylvester, Vice President Stephanie Hampton, and Store Manager Neil Ice were joined by the rest of the staff for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Digital Store is the locally owned destination for Verizon Services. They provide solutions for smart phones, basic phones, tablets, jetpack connected devices and rate plan analysis. The Digital Store has 11 other locations in the area, and have proudly served Central Illinois since 2001. They are open 7 days a week and look forward to bringing their level of Verizon customer service to Pekin.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
