SCORE Peoria announces New Evening Workshops March 2015

Simple Steps for Starting Your Business

This is a 4-part series of workshops, taught by experienced SCORE volunteers, and designed for entrepreneurs who are just starting out.  The focus is on understanding what it takes to start a business and will guide participants through the steps involved in starting their own business.  

When?  April 15, April 22, April 29, and May 6, 2015, 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Where? Fondulac District Library, 400 Richland Street, East Peoria, IL.

Session 1 
will start with the myths and realities of business ownership, assessing your skills and
                 experience, the basics of launching a new business, and the importance of having a
                 business plan.
Session 2 will cover development of the business idea, market research, knowing your competition,
                 and pricing your product or service.
Session 3 will review branding, developing a marketing plan, and effective use of social media for
                 marketing.
Session 4 will cover financial planning, finding financing, understanding and using financial statements
                 and finally, the GO or NO-GO decision.
