Bard Optical – 70 Years, 70 Pairs of Glasses

Bard Optical is celebrating 70 years of providing vision care excellence!

As a “Thank You” to the communities in which Bard Optical has an office, we are donating up to 70 pairs of glasses to “in need” public school students in each community. We will begin this program in Districts #108, #50, #52 and #122 on January 3, 2012. Students will bring their assigned voucher to the following Bard Optical offices: Pekin (Dist. #108), Washington (Dist. #50 and #52) and Peru (Dist. #122).

Bard Optical recognizes that some students simply have little or no access to proper vision care.  We want to help these students by providing free glasses.

To be eligible for this program, the student must meet the following criteria:

            *           Age 13 and under

            *           Family has no private optical insurance benefits for glasses

Each eligible student will be provided with a voucher for one pair of free glasses.  If the student does not already have a current prescription or access to a free eye health examination from private insurance or other benefits from the Illinois Department of Heathcare and Family Services, Bard Optical will also provide the examination at no charge.  The frames covered by this voucher will be from a special selection and the lenses will be made of Polycarbonate, the safest material on the market.

Bard Optical is partnering with local school administrators, faculty and staff to identify eligible students.  Once the voucher is provided, an appointment will be scheduled to provide the student with the glasses as soon as possible.

Bard Optical is pleased to help meet the vision care needs of these deserving students!  For more information, log onto www.bardoptical.com
