Taste of Peoria on August 10th

The Taste of Peoria at the Peoria Riverfront on August 10, 2011.  This is the 30th anniversary of the event.  The raindate is August 11th.

The Taste of Peoria has become downstate Illinois’ premier outdoor food festival capturing the diversity of Peoria’s dining industry.  Since 1981, the area’s finest restaurants have introduced local residents and tourists to the truly international cuisine available in the area.  Historically, the Taste has been enjoyed by tens of thousands, growing each year in both attendees and restaurant participation.

Over 30 local restaurants will be present to give Peoria a taste of some of their most popular menu items.  This year we welcome back many of our favorites as well as many new restaurants joining the event for the first time.  For only $1, $2 or $3 per sample, these restaurants will provide a taste of their most popular menu items to a crowd of more than 20,000 local residents.

The Taste of Peoria is organized by PACE - Peoria Area Community Events. PACE was formed in 1989 and is made up of a group of committed volunteers whose mission is to provide diverse quality entertainment for all ages and interests.  PACE is a not-for-profit and our revenue generating events such as the Taste of Peoria support our non-revenue generating events such as the Santa Parade.  In addition to the Taste of Peoria, PACE produces Brown Bag It, Steamboat Festival, Labor Day Picnic & Parade,  the Santa Parade and Yule Like Peoria.

The event runs from 4:00 – 11:00 with a $2 admission from 4:00 – 10:00pm. Children under 12 with an adult are free.

Live entertainment is scheduled to perform on 2 stages during the event from 4:30 to 10:30.  Entertainment is free with the $2 event admission.
