Butler's paintings on canvas, paper and large wood cutouts will be on display at Speakeasy.
William says his work is inspired by his love of comic books, pop art and block printing. His trademark boldly colored and bulbous forms that seem to be in constant motion often baffle the viewer, which is fine with him. "I sometimes describe my work as pop surrealism even though it isn't similar to other artists in that genre," he said. "Still, I feel the term summarizes well what I do."
Please join us for complimentary light refreshments!
