House of Hope Merges

The Tazewell County House of Hope has consolidated with The Center for Prevention of Abuse. The merger was announced and celebrated at July 14th event at Pekin Country Club.

The House of Hope has operated as an emergency shelter for battered women and children since 1998 in Pekin, Illinois. The Center for Prevention of Abuse has operated an emergency shelter in Peoria, Illinois, and has offered many additional services in the entire tri-county area since 1976.  The Center's Pekin outreach office is located at 401 Court Street.

The consolidation of the House and The Center will enhance services for victims of violence and abuse. Services for House of Hope residents will be integrated with the broad range of programming offered by The Center. Plus, administrative operations will be more efficient under one management system.

The House of Hope shelter in Pekin will now be known as the Carol House at the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
