Lipper recognizes Commerce Short-Term Government Bond Fund

A leading provider of mutual fund information, analytical tools and commentary has given one of the funds in the Commerce Family of Funds its highest rating.  The Commerce Short-Term Government Fund (CFSTX) was awarded the 2011 Lipper Fund Award’s “Best Fund over Three Years” in the Short U.S. Government Funds category.

“This award provides further recognition that The Commerce Trust Company and its Fixed Income group continue to deliver the best risk-adjusted performance,” said Scott Colbert, director of Fixed Income Management, The Commerce Trust Company.  “This particular fund has been and remains a lower risk alternative to traditional bond funds and continues to seek to deliver its investment objective.  The Commerce Short-Term Government Fund continues to look for current income with the preservation of principal, and has done it better than any of its competitors over the last three years.”

The fund was started in December, 1994.
