Lamont becomes Hanson’s first external advisory director

For the first time in Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s history, an external advisory member has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the firm’s holding company. 
Thomas Lamont, who was assistant secretary of the Army for manpower and reserve affairs from 2009 to 2013, was announced as the new board member for Hanson Group Inc. during Hanson’s annual shareholder meeting April 10. Lamont served as vice chair of the congressionally mandated National Commission on the Future of the U.S. Army and is a retired Illinois Army National Guard colonel and longtime Springfield attorney. He also was a special counsel at the University of Illinois; executive director of the Illinois Board of Higher Education; partner with Springfield law firm Brown, Hay & Stephens; executive director of the Office of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor; and director of civil litigation for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. He served the Illinois National Guard’s office of the judge advocate general for more than 25 years, including state staff judge advocate general.
John Michael, P.E., a senior vice president and senior project manager who works at Hanson’s office in Corpus Christi, Texas, also was elected to the Hanson Group Inc. board of directors. The addition of Lamont and Michael expands this board to nine members. The others, and their roles on the board, are Sergio “Satch” Pecori, P.E., chairman and CEO; Jeff Ball, P.E., president and secretary; Jo Ellen Keim, CPA, vice president and treasurer; Kirk Brown, P.E.; John Coombe, P.E., S.E.; Robert Cusick, P.E., S.E.; and Eugene Wilkinson, P.E., S.E.
Six new members join the board of directors for Hanson Professional Services Inc., replacing four seats and adding two, bringing the total of directors to nine. Employees elected as new directors are James Messmore, P.E., Charles Snowden Jr., AAE, CFM, and Dan Whalen, P.E., all senior vice presidents; Mina Biggs and Cindy Loos, P.E., both vice presidents; and Dennis Hollahan, vice president and secretary. The other directors are Pecori, chairman and CEO; Ball, president and chief operating officer; and Keim, executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.
Hanson also reported its 2016 gross revenue as $68.8 million during the annual shareholder meeting, an increase of more than $3.3 million from 2015.
