Busey Recognized as 2016 Social Media Leader

Independent Banker® magazine recognizes three community banks who conduct creative, engaging and impactful social media campaigns
Busey is honored to be a 2016 Social Media Leader by Independent Banker magazine. The award-winning monthly publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America recognized only three community banks for their creative, engaging and impactful social media campaigns. This is the third consecutive year Busey has been named a Social Media Leader by ICBA.

“Busey is honored to be recognized as a social media leader. We enjoy engaging with and serving our customers and community members on social media,” says Amy Randolph, Executive Vice President & Chief Brand Officer for First Busey Corporation. “From initiatives supporting and promoting meaningful causes to exciting giveaways, Busey embraces new ways to openly communicate with our followers.”

Busey was selected for their social media initiatives during their annual Community Promise Month in April, which coincides with National Volunteer Month. Followers could nominate and vote for their favorite charity to win $250 through Community Counts and donate up to 30 meals for every share, comment or like on its pages during Promise a Plate. Since the inception of both initiatives, and through the engagement and support of their followers, Busey has donated 60,000 meals and nearly $3,000.

Busey shares the Social Media Leader title with Bank of Ann Arbor in Michigan and Seacoast Bank in Florida. Winning organizations will be highlighted in the September 2016 issue of Independent Banker and online at http://independentbanker.org/2016/09/2016-ib-social-media-leaders/.
