Downtown Project Receives Award

Pekin Main Street recently received the Lt. Governor's Award for Excellence in Downtown
Revitalization in Design.  The award was presented at the Illinois Main Street Conference fall conference.

"We proudly share this award with Pastor Dave Carrington and the members of Driven Church for their time, talent and treasure in the successful and beautiful renovation of this building," said Pekin Main Street Executive Director Melida Heien.

A reception was held on October 24th at the Fusion Building to celebrate the award and recognize the work the Driven Church has done revitalizing the former Elks Lodge.

The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce recognized and congratulated both groups on their award with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
