Heartland Bank Adds Justin Nelson as Pekin Branch Supervisor

Heartland Bank and Trust Company proudly announces the hiring of Justin Nelson as Branch Supervisor for the branches located at 3400 Court St. and 2807 Broadway Rd. in Pekin. Nelson is responsible for overseeing daily sales and customer care activities at the branches.

Nelson brings seven years of banking and financial experience to Heartland Bank, acquiring skills as a Teller, Personal Banker, Investment Banker and, most recently, a Branch Supervisor. He graduated with a B.S. degree from Western Illinois University. 

 Nelson is active in the local area in a variety of ways including: Canton Kiwanis Club—Vice President, Fulton County Pink, Inc.—Treasurer, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fulton County—Board member, and City of Canton—Alderman. A Canton native, he now makes his home there with his wife, Alicia, and their son, Lucas.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
