The Tazewell County Genealogical and Historical Society Bus Trip
Anyone who attended the ISGS conference in Peoria this year got some great tips on how to research. We want to give you the chance to do the research. Allen County Public Library has a marvelous and vast genealogy section with information that covers the entire United States. It’s a great chance to put those researching tools to work and find some of the information you have been seeking.
The Tazewell County Genealogical and Historical Society is sponsoring a bus trip to this library in Fort Wayne Indiana. The trip will encompass three days. We will leave on Monday June 13 at 7 am from the TCGHS Ehrlicher Library in Pekin IL with an additional pick up stop in Bloomington IL. We will return Wednesday night with a drop off in Bloomington and arrive in Pekin about 9 pm. You will have research time Monday afternoon and evening, all day on Tuesday and four hours on Wednesday before we have to leave the stacks and head home. There is parking available at the library in Pekin for those who are coming from out of town to participate.
Price of the trip includes bus, hotel, and 4 meals. We will stay at Don Hall’s Guest House, the bus will take us to and deliver us back from the library each day. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are included, and we will stop at the Beef House Restaurant in Covington IN on the way home for a meal. A full dinner can be purchased at the Beef House, if desired, or, if you prefer, just the salad bar. Cost of the dinner is NOT included in the price of the trip. We are making this stop as a convenience to our riders. This way you have your choice of what kind of meal and how much you want to pay.
Cost is $210 per person based on double occupancy. A single room is $290. We do not provide roommates, but check with us for possibilities and assistance. You must provide a roommate for the lower price. If you do not have a roommate, you will need to purchase a single room.
Reservation forms can be found at www.tcghs.org. A $50 deposit is required with your form. Reservations must be received by March 15. Final payment is due on or before April 15 with no refunds after that date.
