The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our Chamber Business Breakfast award recipients!
Sunshine Award
Ian Lott was presented with the Sunshine Award which recognizes a business, group, or individual going above and beyond, volunteering in the community. Ian has help to grow the local St. Jude Jeep Creep Committee.
Blue Ribbon Award
Roger Brotherton was presented with the Blue Ribbon Award which is given to a business or individual to recognize significant upgrades to their property. Roger has owned the Franklin School Building since 1996. Prior to his purchase, the historic building was nearing demolition. Since that time he has improved the building to top standards both inside and out.
Franklin School Building is now home to Brotherton Properties, which includes an incredible museum on the lower level. The museum has been toured by visitors from as far as Australia!
Deuce Development, owned by Tim and Janet Glass, occupies the top floor of the building. They specialize in cabinets and countertops.
Keynote Speaker: Erik Reader
We welcomed Erik Reader of Reader Development, INC to discuss his role within our community. Reader will be working toward developing a revitalization plan for Downtown Pekin. His comments were encouraging and inspiring.
