Ronald McDonald House Opens

Families, donors, supporters and friends all gathered at the Peoria Ronald McDonald House to unveil a multi-year labor of love in an all-day celebration. A ribbon cutting was held on Monday, December 16th at part of the grand opening celebration. Media tours were conducted before the ceremonies and public tours and refreshments were available throughout the day.

“The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois is proud to finally start welcoming families in need to our new home in the heart of the medical district,” says Kelly Thompson, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. “Because of the tremendous community support we have received, families will be able to stay with us free of charge for as long as is needed."

The new Peoria Ronald McDonald House will serve over 700 families annually and provide hundreds of volunteer opportunities for the community. The capital campaign for the Peoria Ronald McDonald House is still going strong with many individuals giving and Adopt-the-House sponsorship opportunities still available.
