Join us for the 2nd annual SENIOR DAY IN THE PARK! This is a senior resource fair that provides education, health screenings, bingo, prizes, entertainment and a FREE lunch for seniors! This year we have added a Cruise In, as well as a ceremony to honor our Veteran's.
DATE: Tuesday, April 23, 2019
TIME: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
(Vendor set-up is Monday April 22nd from 3:00 - 4:00 PM or Tuesday April 23rd from 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM)
LOCATION: Veteran's Memorial Arena, 250 Red Bud Drive, Pekin

Vendor tables are available for the resource fair portion of this event. Registration is required and payment is due by April 5th. Please bring a door prize and your own table coverings. You can collect names at your table, or pull one out of our bucket. Lunch is available to vendors for purchase of $8.00 and includes Avanti's spaghetti, salad and bread.

This event is hosted by the Pekin Park District Miller Center, Farmington Country Manor and John Evans Supportive Living.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
