ProHealth Medical Group Brings New Surgeon to Pekin

ProHealth Medical Group, Pekin Hospital, and Progressive Health Systems are pleased to welcome Dr. Benjamin Hanshaw to the ProHealth General Surgery Practice in Pekin, Illinois.

Dr. Hanshaw will begin his surgical practice at 600 South 13th Street, Suite I, on August 3, 2015. His background and training include general surgery, laparoscopy, bariatric surgery, endoscopy, surgical critical care, and trauma surgery.

Dr. Hanshaw comes to Pekin from St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan, where he completed the General Surgery Residency and served as Chief Surgery Resident. He received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois, and a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in Genetics and Biotechnology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.

Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
