Dash at Dusk Raises $12,000 for Pekin Hospital Mission Team

The third annual Dash at Dusk 5K and Kids’ Fun Run raised $12,000 for Pekin Hospital’s upcoming mission trip to the Philippines.

More than 400 runners and walkers participated in the July 10th event that also helped to promote community health and wellness. Andy Bloom was the top male 5K finisher with a time of 16:51. Danielle Walker was the top female 5K finisher with a time of 21:08.

“Thank you to the dedicated runners, walkers, donors, sponsors, hospital employees, and volunteers who helped make this year’s race and after-party so successful,” said Marcy Becker, Dash at Dusk co-coordinator. “Their continued support allows our mission team to help poverty-stricken families in desperate need of medical assistance.”

More than 20 Pekin Hospital physicians, nurses, and employees will take part in this year’s mission trip to the Philippines. Team members hope to treat and assist more than 2,000 patients during their September visit.

Part of Progressive Health Systems, Pekin Hospital has served Tazewell, Peoria, and Mason Counties since 1913. For more information visit pekinhospital.org.
