Win a Side of Beef from Alzheimer's Association

Raffle tickets for The Alzheimer’s Association® - Central Illinois Chapter Beef Raffle are on sale now! One lucky area resident’s freezer will be filled when their ticket number is drawn for a side of beef from Pottstown Meat and Deli.

Raffle tickets sell for $20 each or 3 for $50. The tickets can be purchased through November at the Chapter office, 606 W. Glen Ave., or from Pottstown Meat and Deli located at the Metro Center, 4700 N. University St. The winner will have the option of the beef or a gift card for the amount of the beef value.

The drawing will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Pottstown Meat and Deli. You need not be present to win.

Proceeds from the raffle will support programs and services for people living with Alzheimer’s and their families and caregivers.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
