Gateway Offers Long Distance Support for Loved Ones in Recovery

When the best treatment for a person's substance abuse or drug addiction isn't close to home, it makes it difficult for family members to participate in the treatment of a loved one.

Recognizing family involvement is an integral aspect that provides both immediate and long-term benefits to individuals in recovery, Gateway Foundation Lake Villa has added a valuable feature to its Family Program to assist families that live at a distance through online Family Video Counseling.

How Does Family Video Counseling Work?

An experienced Family Therapist or Counselor facilitates individual family sessions via video teleconference to address concerns related to substance abuse in an open and respectful manner. We use a secure video conferencing software application that is fully compliant with federal health regulations to ensure privacy.
Video family counseling is available to families with loved ones in Residential Treatment.

Family Video Counseling is currently available at the Lake Villa Treatment Center and will be available for families at our Carbondale Treatment Center in March 2013.

Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
