Podiatrist Joins Pekin Hospital’s Medical Staff

Pekin Hospital is pleased to announce that Kurt L. Glesne, DPM, recently joined its medical staff and is now accepting new patients at Pekin Orthopedic Center located at 2351 Broadway in Pekin. 

Originally from Pekin, Dr. Glesne graduated from Pekin Community High School and then received a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Biology from the University of Illinois in Champaign.  He began his medical career when he graduated from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery.  He then completed a three year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida.

His areas of interest include sports medicine, foot and ankle trauma, post traumatic reconstruction, diabetic foot care and limb salvage, as well as traditional care and treatment of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Glesne is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association.  He is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. 

He and his wife have one daughter and reside in Pekin.  In his spare time, Dr. Glesne enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, fishing, camping, and attending sporting events.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
