Pekin Park District Swim Lessons

Cool Off!!!  New session of evening swim lessons will be starting Monday, July 12th at Dragonland for all ages 3 months and up.  Have the Pekin Park Districts trained staff teach your little one the skills to swim like a fish.  We offer daytime classes and evening classes to fit every one's busy schedule.  New sessions of daytime classes begin Monday, July 5th.

We also have a new night class for adults to burn off some of those winter calories.  For more information call 347-7275.

Register now, in the Recreation Office in the Memorial Arena.  Office hours are Monday-Friday 8am till 6pm.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
