Methodist Announces Board Officers

Officers and board members were announced today for the Methodist Health Services Corporation Board, Methodist Medical Center Board, Methodist Medical Center Foundation Board, Provider Resource Management Board, and the Methodist College of Nursing Board.

New board members for the Methodist Health Services Board included Steve Graham, Director of Caterpillar Strategic Investments, and Joseph O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer for G&D Integrated. Both will serve three-year terms ending in 2012. Michael Stone is Chair of the Methodist Health Services Corporation Board and Karen Stumpe is Vice-Chair.

Officers for the Methodist Medical Center Board include Dr. Peter Johnsen as Chair and Mark Petersen as Vice-Chair.

The Methodist Medical Center Foundation Board has Michael Landwirth as Chair and Joseph Henderson as Vice-Chair.

The Provider Resource Management Board has Donald White as Chair and Dr. Gregory Sowards as Vice-Chair.

The Methodist College of Nursing Board includes Debbie Simon as Chair and Jan Wright as Vice-Chair.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
