Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual 4th of July Fireworks

 

Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce will host 4th of July Honor America Celebration firework display at Pekin Memorial Stadium on July 4, 2022. 

 

Pekin, Il— 05/18/2022 — The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce

the continuation of the 4th of July “Honor America Celebration” fireworks display at Pekin

Memorial Stadium this summer.

 

 The fireworks display will be held at nightfall July 4th, with a rain date the following evening. Tickets

will be available for purchase at Pekin Farmer’s Market on June 23rd and 30th from 3:30 p.m. to

6:00 p.m. in the Miller Center parking lot. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gates

of the stadium on July 4th. Admission is as follows:

 

• Ages 13 and up: $5 per person

• Ages 6-12: $1 per person

• Ages five and under: free

• Veterans and active military personnel receive free admission

 

Gates will open at 7:00 p.m. July 4th with pre-show entertainment and concessions available.

Early ticket purchasing is encouraged.

 

This summer will mark Pekin’s 74th year of the Honor America Celebration. Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy McCoy states, “We are genuinely excited to be able to offer this event again to our community with the help of our sponsors. The Honor America Celebration is a hallmark of summer in the Pekin area.”

 

With a 50% increase in cost of fireworks from available vendors in the last year, community sponsorships are needed to continue the Honor America Celebration. The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce accepts business and individual sponsorships annually to fund the display. The firework display is viewed from within the 10,000 seat Pekin Memorial Stadium, with additional seating and handicapped accessible seating located on the football field. Pekin Police Foundation will be selling glow sticks for $2 and LED mouthpieces for $5 throughout the stadium and Mineral Springs Park.

Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
