The Betty Jayne Introduces a New Summer Series, Taste It Tuesday!

Peoria Heights, IL (April 7, 2022) – Taste it Tuesday will be an evening of cocktails, tastings, light hors d’oeuvres and live music. A guest bartender will demonstrate how to make three unique cocktails, and patrons will get the chance to sample each of them! These cocktails will also be served at the bar for the rest of the evening!

After the drink demonstration the band with take the stage! The Betty will feature a different band or artist for each event including the Nathan Taylor Band, Alison Hanna, Jonny Quest and more! The Betty Jayne’s Nanawall will be open so guests can enjoy the evening both inside the Betty and outside on the front lawn. This is the perfect summer weeknight activity — a chance to try some fun new cocktails as well as listen to live music outside!

Events will be held once a month May – September at the Betty Jayne Brimmer Center for the Performing Arts: 1327 East

Kelly Avenue, Peoria Heights, Illinois 61616.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
