Neighborhood House in Need of Volunteers to Wrap and Deliver Gifts
The holiday season is quickly approaching!
Neighborhood House is preparing for volunteers to wrap and deliver gifts for
our Annual Santa for Seniors Program. Seniors that may be isolated from others
or have had very few visitors this year will be receiving a special holiday
gift this season. We welcome you to bring your family and friends to help us
wrap the senior gifts at our wrapping party November 20th and
November 21st from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.! We also need help from
volunteer drivers to help us deliver the gifts on December 3rd from
10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Neighborhood House is also making Christmas brighter for
kids. Different businesses and
organizations are busy collecting toys for the 82nd Annual Toy Shop.
The Community Rooms at Neighborhood House are quickly transforming into the Toy
Shop that gives parents that are working, going to school, recently unemployed,
and grandparents raising grandchildren the opportunity to shop for their
children for Christmas. Donations of
new toys are needed, especially for children of pre-teen age. We will deliver a toy box to your businesses
if you want to help us collect toys.
Perhaps you know a family who would benefit from Toy Shop? Parents
who are working or going to school can pre-register for the Toy Shop November
20 through December 8 at Neighborhood House, Monday through Friday,
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and the cost to register is $10. Those that wish to
register must bring the following documents: 1) Photo
ID 2) Birth certificates for all children or proof of guardianship (insurance
or medical card with your name and children’s names) and 3) Proof of employment
or paystub, school enrollment, or current unemployment statement (not required
for retired grandparents).
Neighborhood House is proud to continue our tradition of
helping families, help themselves this holiday season.
