In celebration of the 26th Anniversary of the Duck Race, Associated Bank is sponsoring the 2nd Annual 5K Duck Dash / 1 Mile Waddle Walk to benefit The Center for Prevention of Abuse.

Who: All runners and walkers

What: 5K run / 1 mile walk

When: Saturday August 9, 2014
6:30 – 7:30am – Late registration & packet pickup
7:30 – 7:45am – Free on-site yoga session warm-up!
8:00am – 5K Dash
8:05am – 1 Mile Waddle Walk
After Finish – Refreshments and Awards

Where: Peoria Park District Riverfront Trail
From Marshal Plaza to Detweiller Marina

Why: In celebration of our 26th Annual Duck Race

How Much: $35.00 – Children under 5 are free to participate with registered adult.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
