Pekin Hosts Annual 4th
of July Fireworks
Pekin Area Chamber of
Commerce will host 4th of July Honor America Celebration firework
display in 2021.
Pekin, Il— 06/03/2021 — The
Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the continuation of the 4th
of July “Honor America Celebration” firework display at Pekin Memorial Stadium
this summer.
In anticipation of Phase Five of
the Restore Illinois plan rolling out next week, the Chamber of Commerce plans
a full-scale firework show in line with past years’ celebrations. The fireworks
display will be held at nightfall July 4th, with a rain date the
following evening. Tickets will be available for purchase at Pekin Farmer’s
Market on June 17th and 24th from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in
the Miller Center parking lot. Tickets will also be available for purchase at
the gates of the stadium on July 4th. Admission is as follows:

Ages 13 and up: $5 per person
·
Ages 6-12: $1 per person
·
Ages five and under: free
·
Veterans and active military personnel receive
free admission
Gates will open
at 7:00 p.m. July 4th with pre-show entertainment and concessions
available. Early ticket purchasing is encouraged.
This summer will mark Pekin’s 73rd
year of the Honor America Celebration. Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Executive
Director Amy McCoy states, “After making the hard decision to cancel the
firework display last year, we are genuinely excited to be able to offer this
event again to our community with the help of our sponsors. The Honor America Celebration
is a hallmark of summer in the Pekin area and I know many families here will
looking forward to resuming their holiday traditions.” In recent years, the firework
display has been viewed from within the 10,000 seat Pekin Memorial Stadium,
with additional seating and handicapped accessible seating located on the football
field.
New to the event this year, the
Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce intends to live stream the firework ariel
display from their Facebook page to accommodate families focused on the
continuation of social distancing. Viewers can tune in to the Pekin Area
Chamber of Commerce Facebook page beginning at 9:00 p.m. on July 4th.
