Dirksen School Family Learning Night Donations

The Dirksen Primary School Parent Club in Pekin, Illinois is seeking donations or item(s) for a raffle basket fundraiser on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. The fundraiser will take place during their annual Family Learning Night. At the event students, parents, faculty, staff and friends participate in fun literacy and STEM activities to promote the importance and love of learning. All proceeds from the raffle baskets will help pay for new library books and computer software for the Dirksen Learning Center.

The Dirksen Parent Club would greatly appreciate any donation your organization or company can make. Items they are seeking for the raffle baskets include: gift cards, event tickets, children’s books, games or activities, or any family-friendly items. Please send any donation to the address at the bottom of the page by Tuesday, March 12, 2019. If you chose to make a donation we will be happy to provide you with a donation receipt letter and tax exempt I.D. number for your records.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
