Uftring Group Get in Gear Race

WOW!  Can you believe it?  It is time for the 5th Annual Uftring Auto Group Get in Gear Race benefitting the Central Illinois Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  The race is on September 30th, 2017 at the Uftring Chevrolet in Washington, IL.  Start time is 8:00 AM.  If you would like to be part of this wonderful event, please go to the official site www.runthegig.com to register.  It’s that simple!  

The Center is a non-profit organization that provides fellowship, education, rehabilitation training, and other services in order to help the blind and visually impaired continue to live independent lives.  The Center also provides a social outlet for those blind and visually impaired clients that reside in group homes.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
