ProHealth Medical Group Welcomes New Pulmonologist

ProHealth Medical Group, Pekin Hospital and Progressive Health Systems are pleased to welcome Dr. Housam Soukieh to ProHealth Pulmonary Specialists in Pekin, Illinois.
Dr. Soukieh comes to ProHealth from Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, where he consulted on pulmonary and critical care cases. He is a board-certified pulmonologist with more than 18 years’ experience in pulmonary medicine.

Dr. Soukieh graduated from the Damascus School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He completed the internal medicine residency program at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the pulmonary fellowship program at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.


Part of Progressive Health Systems, ProHealth Medical Group was established in 1986 as a sister organization of Pekin Hospital. ProHealth offers eight practices throughout the Pekin area. For more information visit pekinprohealth.com.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
