Kreps Joins Savant Capital Management

Savant Capital Management, a nationally recognized fee-only wealth management firm is pleased to announce the addition of Derek Kreps as a financial advisor in the Peoria office. In his new role, Kreps will be responsible for managing all aspects of the financial planning and investment process for Savant’s clients. He will work with clients, advisors, portfolio managers and planners to determine and coordinate effective planning, investment and tax strategies.

Prior to joining Savant, Derek worked as an investment consultant. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Monmouth College and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science program in finance at Webster University.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
