Pekin Main Street To Host Friday Night Family Fest on this Friday, September 12th

When: 5-9:30PM

Where: Downtown Pekin, around the courthouse on Court, Capitol, and Elizabeth
Streets

Description: Pekin Main Street will once again host their Friday Night Family Fest in the streets of downtown Pekin, rescheduled from last Friday due to inclement weather. Sponsored by Herget Bank, Pekin Insurance, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, and the Pekin Area Visitor’s Bureau, this event for all ages will include food, music, and the third and final round of Pekin’s Got Talent. The sale and consumption of alcohol at this family-friendly event is strictly prohibited.

Food Vendors Include: Papa Murphy’s, Deep Fried Delights, Maui Wowi,
Haddad’s and Haddad’s on Main, Jeff’s Snack Shack, Mashies, Corn Belt Concessions,
and the Alzheimer’s Association (strawberry shortcake). Pepsi products will be sold by
Pekin Main Street.

Pekin’s Got Talent (7-9PM): 24 Acts, 14 contestants. Cash prizes will be
awarded to the first, second, and third-place prize recipients ($300, $200, and $100
respectively). Other awards, including the Papa Murphy’s Fan Favorite, the 2014
Marigold Festival Grand Marshall’s Choice Award, and the 2014 Miss Marigold’s Choice
Award, will also be announced.

Music: The Nikbeats will provide entertainment on the Band Stage, situated near
the intersection of Court and 4th Streets beginning at 6:30PM. Chris Tarpley and the
Future Funk All-Stars will provide music on the Pekin’s Got Talent Main Stage near the
intersection of Elizabeth and Capitol Streets from 5-6:30PM, opening for PGT.
Other Entertainment: Games, face painting, and The Unique Twist balloon artists
are all included in the entertainment provided for our younger participants.
