Easter Seals Peoria-Bloomington is proud to announce they ahve been accredited for a period of three years in Beahvioral Services and Supports for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, making it the first CARF accredited autism program in Central IL. 

The Autism Program at Easter Seals provides high-quality, specialized, comprehensive services for children with autism and their families. The Easter Seals Autism Diagnostic Clinic, a one-day diagnostic esxperience led by a developmental pediatrician is unique to the region, delivering over 35% of all comprehensive clinical autism evaluations in IL. 

These accreditation decisions represent the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and demonstrates the organization's substantial conformance to CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three Year Acreditation has been through a rigorous peer review process and site visit, demonstrating its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.

Goodwill of Central Illinois will hold the 5th Annual Recycle Your Style Contest. High school students within Goodwill’s territory are encouraged to donate their used clothing. The high school that donates the most pounds of clothing will win a SMART Board donated by Bradfield’s Computer Supply. The contest runs from October 1st through October 31st. “This has been a very successful campaign for us,” said Bob Parkhurst, Goodwill Vice President. “We are grateful for Bradfield’s Computer Supply’s donation of a SMART Board each year. That prize really heats up the competition among the high schools.” Donations of items other than clothing are encouraged, but only clothing will count toward the contest. Only high schools are eligible, but others can participate including teachers, family and school supporters. Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
