Pekin Hospital Foundation Garden Gala to Recognize Longtime Pekin Pediatrician Terry Tosi, M.D.

The Pekin Hospital Foundation Garden Gala will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 6 p.m. at Embassy Suites in East Peoria and will recognize the contributions of longtime Pekin Pediatrician Terry Tosi, M.D. 

Caring for children in Pekin and the surrounding communities has been Dr. Tosi’s passion for over 40 years, and for that service, Pekin Hospital will formally thank him at the event.  If you or your children have been cared for by Dr. Tosi, please submit a story and/or photos of you, your children, and/or Dr. Tosi, by visiting www.pekinhospital.org/drtosi. 

Tickets are $150 per person and may be purchased by visiting www.pekinhospital.org/gala or calling (309) 353-0559.  The evening will include dinner, dancing, and live and silent auctions featuring auction items generously donated by local businesses and donors.  Entertainment will be provided by The Downtime Band.  Attire is semi-formal.  Net proceeds from the event will help fund the diagnosis and care of children throughout Pekin Hospital.  This includes individual projects and equipment in the ER, Surgery, Pediatrics, and The Baby Place.

Some of this year’s silent auction items include a variety of getaways, wine tastings, electronics, and home décor items.  Live auction items include:  two passes for three competition rounds at the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club, a Napa Valley Wine Country experience, a sports fan getaway, a 5-night stay in Costa Rica, a Churchill Downs Kentucky VIP experience, a Telluride, Colorado 5-night stay for up to eight, and much more.  For a full listing of silent and live auction items, please visit www.pekinhospital.org/gala.

Methodist Offers Free Informational Heart Program

January 29, 2010 Methodist Medical Center is hosting a free “Coffee with the Doctor” on Saturday February 27, 2010 in observance of National Heart Month. Tahir Ilahi, M.D. of the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology will be making a presentation on “Cholesterol and Your Heart”. Registered Dietician Hannah Lee will also be on hand to demonstrate heart healthy meal preparation. “Coffee with the Doctor” will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Methodist Medical Group Cardiology Conference Room at 112 NE.
